Ahmed Khan
Ahmed Khan (born 1938 Sahjehan Pur, UP, India) joined National College of Arts as a lecturer in 1963 till 1988. The artist was also Head of Department at the NCA. Ahmed Khan's work has been widely exhibited in Pakistan and abroad, his original individualistic calligraphy style has led to his paintings being auctioned internationally at impressive prices. Ahmed Khan has received a number of awards and prizes for his work including: 1996 Shakir Ali Award, highest recognition for the best modern painter of the year 1987 Awarded first prize in painting Lahore Biennials International Exhibition 1983-84 Awarded first prize in sculpture National Exhibition Islamabad 1976 Awarded Fellowship National College of Arts Lahore 1963 Kipling Award, highest recognition for best graduate of the National College of Arts.
